Bell Bottom Thrift

The identity package created for Bell Bottom Thrift was developed to emphasize the store’s commitment to sustainability and timeless fashion, while still being accessible to even the tightest of budgets. The store also wanted to tap into the nostalgia factor by embellishing their identity with ‘something groovy’. The client ended up settling on a lava lamp, which is the element that inspired the rest of my design. I chose the elliptical shape as the lockup for the logo to reflect the organic globs that the lava lamp is iconic for. The colors, specifically for the gradient on the poster, were chosen to emulate the hazy glow of a lava lamp in a dim, smoky room. The client requested that orange and yellow played a big part in their identity, in order to be eye catching. I complimented their color choice with the inclusion of the indigo shades, which I think also helps the poster to stand out.
